About William E. Terheun

William (Bill) Edward Terheun, was born in Woodbury, New Jersey in 1925. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy as a medic aboard the light aircraft carrier USS Monterey. After he left the Navy, he worked as a Port Authority Policeman in New Jersey. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

About the collection

Scrapbooks documenting the history of USS Monterey (CVL-26). The majority of the items are photocopies or photo reproductions, with a small number of documents and photos dating from the 1940s.
